Rev. Jana Swenson comes to Kairos after fourteen years of ministry in congregations of various sizes. A perceptive and visionary leader with a pioneering spirit, Jana is passionate about the transforming power of the gospel in the lives of individuals and organizations.
Skilled at helping congregations articulate a clear and compelling vision Jana is an expert in forming strategies to realize them. Her approach to resource development is prayerful, strategic, and inventive, with an understanding that there is both challenge and exhilaration in leading a congregation through this process.
Jana’s commitment is to invite people into community, bring them deeper in their relationship with God and one-another, cast vision for the life-changing difference they can make, and then watch as God brings them to deeper levels of faith, commitment, and generosity. She is inspired by the joy and fulfillment that accompany a life-style of generosity.
Jana also serves part time as the Director of Development for Mount Carmel Ministries, a family bible camp in Alexandria, MN. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gustavus Adolphus College and a Masters of Divinity degree from Luther Seminary.
Jana is married to Reverend Jonathan Swenson, founder and Principle Actor for Paraphrase Theatre, a faith-based drama ministry. They have two daughters currently in college. The Swensons reside in Alexandria, MN.
